A Christmas Message from YesTax!
At YesTax we choose to do things differently, by making a difference and this Christmas is no exception. We want, as a business, to help spread the festive cheer far and wide.
In previous years, we have donated to food banks, brought presents for underprivileged children in Sheffield and donated to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, amongst other things.
This year, to make sure each and every one of us is actively involved in the Christmas initiative, each member of the team was given £100 to spend on a charitable venture of their choice.
The spirit of giving has been spread throughout the team and the support going out to multiple charities has been wonderful to see.
Here are the chosen vulnerable children’s charities YesTax this year has chosen to support given they are held close to the hearts of the people in the business:

I recently had the privilege of helping a real-life warrior. After fighting a brain tumour and undergoing radiation at just 5 years old, this brave girl was left with permanent hair loss where the radiation had damaged her follicles.
As she reached 13, she began to feel deeply self-conscious about it. Being able to help her get a weave and watching her face light up was an absolute joy. I am so grateful to have played a small part in her journey back to self-confidence.

My niece, Susie, recently had a little girl, Mabel, born with down syndrome. Mabel, had an extremely tough start being born also with congenital heart disease and a complete AVSD – atrioventricular septal defect – which needed repair just as soon as she was strong enough for the operation. Mabel came through major heart surgery at just 8 months old. The family, for all their support needs, rely on a national down syndrome charity – PADS – https://positiveaboutdownsyndrome.co.uk/ who have been their go-to for anything and everything they need in terms of support.

Roundabout supports homeless young people in Sheffield and Rotherham. We picked Roundabout Sheffield because at a time when people are celebrating the Christmas season with their family and loved ones in the security of their own home, there are young people who are living a different reality. Roundabout provides young people with a safe place to stay, offering support, guidance and stability, not just at Christmas but throughout the year. Roundabout have a range of services and are committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness, and assisting young people to progress to independence.

Sheffield Foster Care – we were lucky enough to grow up with our own families and celebrate Christmas with them every year as a child. Sadly, not every child has a stable family, so those adults that choose to foster children as their own so that Christmas can be a special time for them too are people we have an unparalleled level of respect for. They deserve something back, which is why we have chosen this cause.

Baby Basics Chesterfield UK is a community-based baby bank providing essential items such as clothing, nappies, toiletries, toys, and baby equipment to families in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. The charity supports families facing hardship, including those experiencing poverty, temporary housing, or other vulnerabilities, by ensuring they have the basic items needed for their babies’ care. Families are referred by midwives, health visitors, social workers, and other community organisations, ensuring help reaches those who need it most. The centre is run entirely by volunteers, who collect, clean, check, and sort donations, assemble starter packs, and deliver them to families—helping to reduce stress and provide practical support during the early stages of parenthood. Being a Mum, living in Chesterfield this is a charity close to my own heart.

I’ve chosen buy food for a local food bank. The holiday season can be a really tough time for many families who struggle to put meals on the table. By donating essential food as well as some festive treats, I can help make someone’s Christmas a little brighter. To me, Christmas is all about sharing what we can and reminding ourselves that small acts of kindness can have a meaningful impact.
Everybody at YesTax wishes our clients, staff and the wider community a very merry Christmas!
YesTax. Positively Better.
