Christmas Foodbank Donation
Just before our break, Rachael and Chris organised a collection from the team to support foodbank needs over the Christmas period. Everyone agreed that it was a great idea, and across the whole team we raised £425, which was donated directly out of each team member’s bonus.
The money was spent on more luxurious food items, such as Christmas puddings, selection boxes, Shloer and Pringles. The core idea behind such items was that whilst many foodbank supplies are providing valuable support to keep families with regular meals, Christmas is a time for celebration, and we hoped that these more “luxury” foods and drinks would help to add something a little special.
“The team had a chat about different causes, but ultimately, we felt that we take for granted the luxury items we buy and consume at Christmas, without even thinking about it, so donating these items to foodbanks felt the right thing to do.
There are so many adverts at Christmas promoting a variety of luxury foods. However, with many families struggling, even more so due to the cost-of-living crisis, many of these items are just unattainable. We just wanted to help in this small way.”

Once all food supplies had been purchased and gathered together, deliveries were made to four foodbanks across Sheffield and the Wirral, ready for families to pick up during the week before Christmas.
