Claim review service for accountants or clients who have prepared their own claims

The Treasury is finally acknowledging that a serious problem exists within the R&D tax advisory sector. HMRC’s response to reduce fraud and error has seen the introduction of a number of legislative and regulatory changes, the recruitment of 100 new technical R&D advisers and a large increase in the number of enquiries.

Most significantly, from April 2023 companies must inform HMRC, in advance, that they plan to make an R&D claim. They will need to do this using a digital service within 6 months of the end of the period to which the claim relates.

With widespread change, increased claim complexity and scrutiny by HMRC, YesTax are offering a claim review service for accountants or clients who have prepared their own claims.
