Shirt sponsors for Cutthorpe Cricket Club 2023
YesTax is proud to be this season’s shirt sponsor and enjoyed meeting the team in their new branded kits earlier this month.
Cutthorpe is a family friendly club with a proud history dating back to 1918. The club boasts five senior teams, a women's team, and a thriving junior set-up. The club is currently developing more than 250 members.
Growing rapidly over the last 15 years, Cutthorpe has progressed from having two Saturday and Sunday sides to fulfilling its ambition to be the best option in North East Derbyshire for any cricketer from 4 years old through to the most grizzled of veterans. The club is the largest in the area, developing its facilities to include; a state-of-the-art playing surface, fantastic new training nets, and recently has been awarded a Welcoming Environments grant to help transform the outdated clubhouse to become a more modern and welcoming space.
The overwhelming feel at the club is its desire to provide its local community with the opportunity to become physically and mentally fitter, more active and healthier as a result. The club actively engages and supports the involvement of vulnerable children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to play club cricket – an initiative instigated in 2010 when a club member working with Children in Care, was attending a young, vulnerable person visit and noticed a cricket bag in the foyer of the B&B. That young person, through his statutory workers, was invited to get involved with Cutthorpe Cricket Club, and 12 years on is still playing cricket and is running their own successful business through associates, contacts and acquaintances made through the club.
Ever since this first positive impact the club is committed to working with children in care; those who are fostered, adopted and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC's), offering free access to training, coaching, matches and the club as a whole. Cutthorpe Cricket Club believes that in offering free access to its playing facility they can aid in the development of a child’s physical, mental and social behaviours.
This year, working with Derbyshire County Council Care Leavers and Social Services, the club is to offer taster sessions (group or individual) as best suits the young person to encourage interest and involvement in club cricket. The hope is that many more young people will have the opportunity to try cricket as a new sport or re-engage with it after having lost touch.
To enable this, the club looks to provide free training and free kit to remove any cost implications and ensure inclusivity. With the support of YesTax, the club is able to provide training kit and coaching to assist in the integration of vulnerable children in its local community.
Given the ethos and feel at Cutthorpe Cricket Club aligning perfectly with YesTax’s own values, we’re absolutely delighted with our new association and wish the team all the best for the season!
YesTax. Positively Better.
