The business of business is much more than business...
The phrase “the business of business is business” is used far too often when trying to justify fees and prices. But business is not just business. It’s much, much more.
It pays for our children’s clothes, it puts food on the table and pays the mortgage. But even more importantly, it takes care of the mental wellbeing of our whole team. Yes, our customers are important but what is just as important is the wellbeing of the team.
Our business gives us a real sense of purpose. We celebrate each new customer, each target hit and the tax savings for our clients. At times we’re like kids on Christmas morning. But for us, the most important thing about our business is making a difference.
Of course, we want to make a difference to our clients, our team and our families but we want to try and make our own slice of difference to the world too!
As a team, for most of us, we have been lucky enough to work with each other for many years. As with all great relationships, the respect we have for each other is in equal measure to the quirky frustrations we also have for each other from time to time.
What shines through is the fun, laughter and the common goal of “giving” which connects us and inspires us to build a business that really matters. A business that not only matters to us, our teams and our families but the lives of others for the better. After all, isn’t that what life is all about?
